Jack Armstrong (he/him) is a tenor trombonist from Barrington, RI, who is interested in exploring the sonic possibilities of the trombone. He is an active freelancer in New England, having performed with the Enigma Chamber Opera Company, multiple brass quintets, Church of the Advent Orchestra in Beacon Hill, Boston Conservatory Orchestra, Indiana University Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed as principal trombone with the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra in Bloomington, IN. Equally at home as a jazz performer, Jack has performed at the Newport Jazz Festival multiple times with a variety of artists including the great Jimmy Heath. As an educator, he has given masterclasses and group lessons to K-12 students throughout Rhode Island. With degrees from Indiana University and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Jack is a proud student of Carl Lenthe and Lawrence Isaacson. He works everyday to keep their message alive: always put the music first.
